COMMUNITY AGREEMENT FOR UNITY PROGRAMS

Unity strives to offer safe spaces for participants to learn and create. In order to ensure this, all participants agree to respect themselves and others including different perspectives and lived experiences. Participants are encouraged to keep an open mind, be willing to try new things, communicate personal needs and ask questions at any time. Most importantly have fun and be yourself!

ONLINE SAFETY

The safety and well-being of its participants is Unity Charity’s top priority. All Unity online workshops will have a moderator present who will coordinate discussions between the facilitator and the audience. The moderator will also be enforcing the above Community Agreement and making sure that the online space remains safe and inclusive.

Info for Participants

  • Unity is not recording our workshop sessions, but participants should be aware that others can do so using third party recording devices or software. Please don’t do or say anything you’ll regret later – or wouldn’t be happy to be made public.

  • Never join a meeting or accept a request from someone you don’t actually know or follow. For Unity sessions, please only refer to the zoom links on our website or social media – if you are unsure which link you should be using, please email info@unitycharity.com and someone will be in touch with you!

  • Adjust your own privacy settings on Zoom as you see fit, and always leave personal details (e.g. address, phone number, etc.) out of your profile.

Info for Parents & Guardians

  • For youth under the age of 16, we feel it is important that you monitor your child’s video chats and online activity. That doesn’t mean hovering over their shoulder all day – but it does mean keeping an eye and an ear out at frequent intervals.
