What’s the program?
Introducing The Source Hip Hop Programs(Virtual/Hybrid)! Unity Charity and our partners are here to support diverse youth in need by providing digital access and online Hip Hop programming, directly to their homes. Participants who enroll in this program will engage in weekly virtual Hip Hop sessions and receive a free device (theirs to keep!) along with six months of fully subsidized internet for their household. (Participants must attend programs to maintain their free internet access and to keep their device at the end of the program!) This project actively engages youth in programs that cultivate protective factors, social skills, and a sense of belonging, while enhancing online access and connectivity for them and their households.
Who can register:
Youth ages 12 - 29
Youth from underserved communities facing economic and social challenges
Art Forms:
Spoken Word Poetry
MC/Rap and Beat Production
Takeaways:
- Small learning groups
- Participation in 1 - 2 programs each season
- Digital device (tablet, laptop) provided for each participant/participating household beneficiary
