What is the Source?

Introducing The  Source Hip Hop Programs(Virtual)! Unity Charity and our partners are poised to support diverse youth in need by providing digital access and online Hip Hop programming, directly to their homes.

Participants who enroll in this program will engage in weekly virtual Hip Hop sessions and receive a free device (theirs to keep!) along with a year of either a phone plan or fully subsidized internet for their household. (Participants must attend programs to maintain their free internet access and to keep their device at the end of the program!) This project actively engages youth in programs that cultivate protective factors, social skills, and a sense of belonging, while enhancing online access and connectivity for them and their households.

• Two seasons (4 workshops a week to choose from!) 
• Season One: January 13th - Feb 28th, 2025 (Mondays and Wednesdays @ 5 pm - 6 pm)
• Season Two: March 24th - May 30th, 2025 (M @ 5 pm - 6 pm)
• Breaking: Wednesdays 5 pm - 6 pm - Virtual/In person at Macphee Centre For Creative Learning
• Beat Production: Thursdays 5 pm - 6 pm - Virtual/In person at Macphee Centre For Creative Learning
• Hip Hop Dance: 6pm - 8 pm - Virtual/In person at DANSpace/Lighthouse Arts Centre (Exclusive African Nova Scotian program)
• Spoken Word/MCing - Virtual time TBA (Exclusive African Nova Scotian program)
