What is “Crossword”?

You bring your truth we will bring mentors to build your expertise on how you can earn a living through poetry.

Improve your craft, develop an entrepreneurial mindset, learn about making a mark in the industry over a span of 15 weeks.

WHO CAN APPLY?
  • Emerging artists aged 16-29, in the GTA.
  • Actively practicing poets who have the hunger and passion to build a career in poetry.

WHAT WILL YOU TAKE AWAY?

Business and Employability Skills Development – using artists’ creative & technical skills as catalysts for nurturing learning, they will receive an introduction to the industry, knowledge of adjacent careers, workshops on workplace professionalism, communications, budget management and financing, grant and copy writing, and creative/business collaborations to name a few

Networking and Mentorship Opportunities  – every workshop is delivered by professionals who are active in the industry who provide mentorship and career guidance both during and beyond program hours

Experiential Learning Opportunities – including developing and/or disseminating new creative pieces, tools and assets alongside a professional CV, project pitches, and site visits to working environments of industry professionals and adjacent spaces
