Unity Fest – Unity Charity’s annual flagship event and Canada’s only national Hip Hop festival – is back this year with a digital spin.

Unity Fest /21 will be an action-packed, 3-part virtual event series featuring over 75 artists and youth from across Canada and representing all elements of Hip Hop, including dance, rap, spoken word poetry, graffiti, beatmaking, beatboxing,& DJing!

Reflective of the ongoing adversity brought on by Covid-19 and true to the resilience-building programs Unity offers to youth and artists year round, the theme of Unity Fest /21 is ‘Keep Ya Head Up’. The event series will pay homage to the spontaneity, grit, and authenticity of Canada’s irrepressible Hip Hop communities from coast to coast, while creating vital paid opportunities for artists, creatives and youth to build connections and audiences despite the challenging context of the pandemic.

Unity Fest /21 will consist of:

Unity Youth Showcase (July 15th at 7pm ET) – live performances and the premiere of a short film created and produced by current and alumni Unity youth program participants

Dance Night (July 22nd at 7pm ET) – a national dance crew battle, live performances, and the premiere of short films created and produced by Unity artists and community members

Live Concert  (July 29th at 7pm ET) – live performances from emerging Canadian Hip Hop artists, participants and mentors from Unity’s MC Launch Program, Rough Draft, and special guests!
