Rajni believes in the healing of art and helping others. Her journey began when she graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University, with an Honour’s BA degree in Communication and Business Administration. After graduation, she worked at Shred-it as a Senior Marketing Project Leader for 5 years. She was responsible for the events management, sales support and online marketing. She left the corporate world as she felt it did not resemble her true self and wanted to pursue other areas of work.
In October 2009 she travelled through India and South America for several months. It was during her travels, that she decided to take a new path/direction in life, and returned to Toronto, inspired and excited about her possibilities. She began volunteering at several non-for profit organizations and working with youth including CAMH, where she taught an art class to high school students. This experience, along with her travels, sparked a newfound passion in continuing education and becoming an Art Therapist.
In 2011 she enrolled as a Master’s student at the Toronto Art Therapy Institute and is currently finishing her thesis. During this time of furthering her newfound passion in the healing power of art, she came across UNITY and immediately connected to the organization. She is using her previous experience and passion to work within this area to support the team in various projects including the UNITY Festival, partnerships, marketing and communications.
