Keisha James

Mississauga Hub Program Coordinator

Keisha James is a multi-disciplinary filmmaker and artist, having found a calling as a facilitator and coordinator in the community arts sector delivering programs to marginalized youth. As a result she values social welfare programs, and using the power of media within the non-profit arts sector to highlight issues, practice anti-oppression and bring about change. To this end, she is currently the Founder and Curator of The Broke Gallery, a pop-up multimedia community gallery that provides emerging artists a free venue and event to display their work, along with offering workshops on a seasonal basis in various art disciplines.

Having graduated from Humber College with a Bachelor of Film and Media Production, Keisha hopes to use her education to continue telling and sharing compelling stories through film-making, create engaging works of art, and continue facilitating future opportunities for youth in Toronto to be able to achieve their goals.
